A bit of legislative poetry

Esteemed Sacramento Bee columnist Steve Weigand has written a charming poem fashioned after “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Don’t miss it!

Here’s a teaser:

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the Senate,
Not a solon was stirring, no one was in it.
Their wallets were hung by the rostrum with care,
In hopes that contributors soon would be there.

Assemblymen were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of chairmanships danced in their heads.
And wearing just jeans and his gator-skin boots,
Arnold was flexing — remembering his roots.
