The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has announced the entertainment line-up for its $1,000-a-head, Jan. 4 celebration in honor of incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco: Tony Bennett, Carole King, Wyclef Jean (of the Fugees) and “Your House Band,” featuring former Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, as well as Bruce Hornsby, Warren Haynes (of the Allman Brothers), Mike Gordon (of Phish), and unnamed special guests. Oh, and special (read as: random) appearances by Amy Brenneman (“Judging Amy”) and Richard Gere (“Pretty Woman,” “Chicago”).
Because, who wouldn’t pay $1,000 for a Wyclef Jean/Tony Bennett duet? Alas, it’ll cost you airfare as well; it’ll be in D.C.
