I read Jerry’s speech and i’m one of his supporters. It was mainly
Democratic rhetoric and played to American patriotism, perhaps
necessary in a conservative “red” area. I would have liked to have
heard more specifics, particularly coming from an “energy expert” and particularly around his stated area of expertise. This was lite too. In fact, the whole thing was rather tepid in my opinion but I guess this is what comprises political life in today’s political world of soundbites.
The speech demonstrates the need more than anything else for REAL campaign financing reform and REAL ethics reform. This never seems to happen though. When the Democrats are thru verbally spanking the Republicans they will be dipping their own feet deep into the trough of campaign donations. In fact, that’s where Pelosi’s feet have been these past few months or so i’ve read. Didn’t she raise something like $730 in corporate donations?
