Want to know why the state’s prisons are so screwed up, and what Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is fixin’ to do about it?

The Governor’s Office will hold a live, interactive video Web discussion at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on California’s prison crisis and Schwarzenegger’s proposed reforms to reduce overcrowding; members of the public can submit questions in advance at, and then tune in to the same site tomorrow to view the live forum.

Panelists will include Tom Sawyer, the governor’s public safety liaison; Susan Fisher, the governor’s Crime Victim Advocate; and Kathy Jett, whom the governor recently named to take over the prison system’s “$1 billion failure” substance-abuse treatment programs.

UPDATE @ 2:36 p.m. Tuesday: Listen here to what the governor had to say today after touring the overcrowded California Rehabilitation Center in Norco.
