A different kind of presidential campaign

Don’t care much for any of the declared presidential candidates? Try Berkeley-based “performance artist, painter, writer, filmmaker, shaman, presidential candidate and bon vivant” Frank Moore!
His Web site says he’s for free, universal health care, education and mass transit; halving the military budget, banning arms sales and gradually eliminating nuclear weapons; legalization and taxation of drugs; rebuilding public infrastructure; banning the death penalty and sending only violent criminals to prison; public funding of political campaigns; and much more.
Does it matter that he has cerebral palsy and does much of his performance art in the nude?
You decide. See video clips explaining his platform at his YouTube site, or more about his his performance art at his other Web site (caution: contains nudity). Or, go see him yourself: Moore is scheduled to make a campaign speech at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 at the Claremont House, 4500 Gilbert St. in Oakland.

I’ve known Frank since he was a kid in college. Let me tell you that anyone who can live so successfully, even without a “handicap,” could certainly run this country better than the current politicians.

Bravo! I’m on the Socialist ticket, but you’re slowly gaining on my sensibilities. Good luck!

yep, louise…the “resume” i look for in a candidate is a happy, responsible life which has been effective in inching the world to a more humane and liveable place.
al, glad to hear that!
