Mixing it up with the presidential campaigns

Mix It Up East Bay, the monthly get-together for young East Bay progressives, returns 6 to 9 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 8 at Arsimona Bar & Grill, 561 11th St. in Oakland, with presentations from the presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards.

Organizer Emily Weinstein — an Oakland Democratic activist and 2004 Kerry delegate — tells me the monthly cocktail confabs have been a hit since launching in July, averaging about 100 people; she estimates even more will come out for this week’s event.
