Here’s my award for Dopey Press Release of the Day: The Ritz cracker company says a national survey shows Americans want as president someone who is “strong, capable and fun.”
Fun? I don’t know about you but I don’t care if my president is fun. I want him or her to take the job pretty darned serious. Voters don’t want their politicians to have a good time.
But if you must know, the poll results showed that former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani is the most fun Republican while Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., is the most fun Democrat.
Now, this is funny: 42 percent of Republicans said they have a lot fun each day, compared to 35 percent of Democrats.

I can’t say I am surprized. I don’t care if our president is fun or not. I want a strong serious leader who can stand up to world leaders and those who mean us harm. I don’t care if he/she is soft and sensitive. This is the leader of the free world we are talking about! I care about the candidates records and what they have accomplished…What a concept.

I’m with you. I guess that’s why cracker marketing firms get paid a whole lot more than I do!

Ritz crackers is on to something. Americans want their leaders to be a combination of Santa Claus and Mother Teresa with a dash of Bill Clinton thrown in.
