Well Give Arnold his due for trying. In 2000 California's state elected Republicans caved in on redistricting by choosing safe Jerry-mandered districts and permanent minority status rather than fighting for a fair redistricting plan for California.

I wonder today as I watch the futiity of all things Republican in the Golden State, if our elected leaders had some back bone eight years ago maybe things would be different today. And if they were not. Then I could be comphorted by the fact that we died fighting for fairness with our boots on. Instead we were sold down the river by the likes of our genius leader Jim Brulte and Lynne Leach (who had a hand in moving the 15th Assembly District out of Dublin).

In the end Arnold has many flaws as governor but he does get it right once in a while.
