I see nothing wrong in her doing. War is not just a nice walkabout, war is war and the task of a soldier is to kill. Or to be killed, of course.

War is done by the soldier, but the soldier does not declare the war. If there is any guilt at all, then it is the guilt of the politician who declares war.

Media works like this:
Abu Ghraig = BAD! ABUSE! WAR CRIME!
9-11= the infidels had it coming! America is bad!

How was WW2 won by the Allies? By destroying the enemy, the fascists.

How will this war be won? By destroying the enemy, the islamo-fascists.

Not by pussyfooting around stupid regulations and pretending to be “superior”, “sophisticated” and on the moral high ground.

What they did at Abu Ghraib was dumb, but I have no problems with it. Personally I think that non-military personnel shouldn’t even be taken prisoner. See a jihadi with a gun? Shoot to kill. Period. Them or us.

She was a private following the orders of her superiors. Yes she was very naive but why was nobody above the rank of sergeant ever charged? Does anybody really think these soldiers did this of their own initiative? That the orders did not come down the chain of command.
The senior officers always wriggle out of it.

Yes Josh you never put it into proper perspective…Of course she should have not done the things she did but when you compare it to what others do it isn’t even close to the same level. It is fine to make sure it isn’t swept under the carpet but then move on. Our media in general goes on about some humiliation like it is on the same level and any chance to report anything negative about our military is ran over and over into the ground…So here we are years later and she gets more attention in our media over humiliation than terrorists cutting off the heads of their prisoners on tape no less so their familes can see it.
