In what is being described as a major economic policy address, Rep. Ellen Tauscher, D-Alamo, will speak today in Walnut Creek at a luncheon sponsored by the Contra Costa Council.

Tauscher’s office says she will address the health and stability of the nation’s economy including rising gas prices, rising cost of consumer goods, the meltdown in the mortgage industry, the Bear Stearns buyout, the health of credit and lending markets and what these indicators mean for the overall stability of our economy nationally and in the Bay Area.

“Tauscher will address these issues from the unique viewpoint of former Wall Street Investment Banker who understands the ins and outs of the market place blended with her 11 years of experience representing the Bay Area in the U.S. House of Representatives,” according to a press release.
