McNerney to Andal: Bring on the debates
By Lisa Vorderbrueggen
Thursday, June 5th, 2008 at 12:00 pm in 2008 November election, congressional district 11.
Absolutely, there will be debates, says the spokesman for Rep. Jerry McNerney, the freshman Democrat who will run against GOP nominee Dean Andal in the November general election.
“We have to work out the details,” said McNerney spokesman Andy Stone. “Of course, McNerney’s first priority is the job he has been hired to do, which is to represent the district.”
Of course.
Andal sent a letter yesterday asking McNerney to participate in public debates in every city in the district.
That sounds good.

This should be a great election and a series of debates will be good for the voters. McNerney has been such a breath of fresh air after Pombo, and has well-represented the district. But he has never been a great debater, and will be a “debating underdog” to Andal, who is a long-time politician.

Any wager on how many debates? I bet 3. Beer/refreshment of choice goes to the winner?

It’s a waste of time. Unless McCain wins big in the district, Andal is a gone goose.

The only folks who think Andal will win are the hard core wild eyed republicans who think the Bush presidency is the greatest thing to happen America. In other words they don’t have a clue.
