Vorderblog: July 22, 2008

By Lisa Vorderbrueggen
Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 at 10:07 am in 2008 presidential election, Video of the Day, Vorderblog.

I’ve just finished Barack Obama’s book, “Dreams From My Father,” and I will start tonight John McCain’s “Hard Call.” And I had better get cracking on Obama’s latest book, “Audacity of Hope,” too.

Check out my second videoblog (posted below) as I talk briefly about the books and the challenges of reading everything prior to the start of the conventions late this summer in Denver and St. Paul.

It’s also my second experiment with my new Flip video. I sat closer to the camera, so the audio should be a lot clearer than yesterday’s attempt. I am perhaps, a bit too close, as is the video slightly cuts off the top of my head. But I was reluctant to go for a third take in my backyard for fear my neighbors would start wondering why I’m talking to myself.

I thought it was great except for the part you said its Tuesday July 21st…….

Did I say that? Oh, for pity’s sake …

    Well done Lisa.

As you struggle to finish all three books written by the presidential nominees, just hope we do not have a VP nominee who is an author. Think about what you would have had to do if Jim Webb were nominated! (Lucky he took himself out of it.)

Geez, I hadn’t thought about veeps-as-authors! Thanks for the heads up. I’ll have to stock up on coffee and get those reading glasses polished.

I also have on my desk — arrived today — DVDs of the Biography Channel’s documentaries on McCain and Obama. I’ll check those out and let folks know if they’re worth watching. They’ll be on sale in stores Aug. 5

from being the one in the house with your sister, Andrea. I’d say she’s got to be winning the dead president series. We have a whole spare bedroom filled with them. (books, not the dead presidents!) Nice job, Lisa. You look good, so does the yard.

  • Lisa Vorderbrueggen

No question about it, Andrea is way ahead of me on dead president books.

But I’ll be able to say I saw the next U.S. resident in person while he is still alive!

How that’s for sibling rivalry. (smile)

    Lisa,

I throughly enjoyed reading Obama’s “Audicity Of Hope” book. That book is probably why I switched to becoming a Democrat and voted for Obama over Hillary. I will have to dig in and read the one written by Mr. McCain.

Loved your video blog. Good job! Look forward to viewing it when you are off to the conventions.
