Is media in love with Obama?

Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass made me laugh out loud with his funny take today on the recent flap about media fawning over presumed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/chi-kass-23-jul23,0,1832802.column

My favorite paragraph: “McCain is now cast as the crabby uncle who visits and shrieks there’s no gin in your house. He grabs the TV remote control, turns off the cartoons and forces the kids to watch the ancient Mesopotamia special on The History Channel.”

Wow, I didn’t know that my Uncle Art visits Chicago, too.

In case you missed it, the campaign of presumed GOP nominee John McCain produced two videos set to love songs and chock full of laudatory Obama commentary among the media pundits. The McCain folks are even asking you to vote for your favorite of the two videos.

Here’s a link to the one that has the most votes:

What a Laugh. McCain continues to screw up geography (talking about the border of Iraq and Pakistan), the existence of countries (Czechoslovakia), the number of troops in Iraq, whether Iraq supports Sunnis or Shias, and the history of the war in Iraq, but he has gotten close to a free pass from the major media.

Just yesterday, McCain screwed up the history of the surge and Sunnis yesterday in a CBS interview. Did CBS show it? No. CBS altered the video to cleanse his mistake.

McCain claimed that the surge had caused the Sunni leaders in Anbar to join the Americans, but the fact is they joined us before the surge. What was striking is that CBS aired the interview by editing out McCain’s answer and substituting in a different answer. Talk about biased and unethical “journalism”.

Obama’s royal procession through the Old World, accompanied by nearly every big-name journo in the US, ought to settle the argument.
