Lots of Bay Area folks will have a chance to chat with their voice in Congress this weekend.

Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, will host her annual Citizenship Fair — celebrating those who’ve gained U.S. citizenship in the past year — from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, July 26 at the Fruitvale Transit Village, 3301 East 12th St. in Oakland. She’ll hold a ceremony recognizing 24 district residents who gained citizenship after receiving support at last year’s fair, presenting them with Congressional Citizenship Certificates. The fair offers access to community resources such as support in filling out citizenship application forms, on-site immigration consultations and free legal advice from some of the top local experts in the field. Immigrants seeking permanent citizenship will be counseled both on the political process and the importance of participating in the government process by registering to vote. The first 150 people to register for this event will receive free passport-quality photos; to register, call Daniela Quintanilla at 510-763-0370. And the fair will feature free entertainment and games for children.

Lee also will host panel discussion on the “green economy” followed by a Green Jobs Career Fair this Monday, July 28, at Berkeley City College, 2050 Center St. — the discussion will be in the campus auditorium from 10 to 11 a.m., and the jobs fair will be held in the atrium from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A free continental breakfast will be provided, and representatives from various agencies and businesses from throughout the Bay Area will be there to discuss career and training opportunities for people seeking jobs in this sector. Confirmed panelists include Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates; Albany Mayor Robert Lieber; Emeryville Mayor Ken Bukowski; Emeryville Vice Mayor Ruth Atkin; Assemblywoman Loni Hancock, D-Berkeley; Cal State East Bay University President Mohammad Qayoumi, and a representative from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. For more information or to RSVP, contact Maha Ibrahim at 510-763-0370 or maha.ibrahim@mail.house.gov.

Rep. Pete Stark, D-Fremont, will hold three town-hall meetings this Saturday, July 26: 9 to 10 a.m. in the Ruggieri Senior Center, 33997 Alvarado Niles Road in Union City; 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the lecture hall of the San Leandro Library, 300 Estudillo Ave.; and noon to 1 p.m. in the council chambers of Alameda City Hall, 2263 Santa Clara Ave.

Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Palo Alto, will hold two town-hall meetings this Saturday, July 26: 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the Scotts Valley City Council Chambers, 1 Civic Center Dr., and 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Menlo Park City Council Chambers, 701 Laurel St. The Menlo Park meeting will be webcast live on Eshoo’s Web site, and the lawmaker will take questions from webcast viewers; questions should be e-mailed to AskAnna@mail.house.gov.
