If you don’t believe Mr. White’s assertions, please check out the following video in which Councilman Hart is already exhibiting unbecoming behavior at a recent Dublin City Council meeting. In this now infamous proceeding, Councilman Kevin Hart made outrageous claims against a local blog beloved by many residents (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-2mDGNRo80&feature=related).

My name is Steve white. I know Kevin Hart, and I can document the fact that he willfully disobeyed a court order issued by Judge Julie Conger. The effect of this disobedience was to cover up corruption in local govt. I was digging into court records to uncover wrongdoing, but was wrongly denied access to the courthouse by Hart, who knew of Judge Conger’s order but chose to disobey it. Obviously, by accusing Hart of wrongdoing, I am leaving myself open to a lawsuit if my accusations are not true, but I am not worried because they are true, and as I said before, I can prove it. So, you’ve got a guy running for public office who is a sworn officer of the law, but disobeys the law when he wants to.Since my purpose in going to the courthouse was to research possible public corruption, the effect, and personally I believe the intention, or Hart’s actions were to cover up corruption. I think you should check your facts, there are other Councils’ in Contra Costa County with just as high a caliper of expertise as Concord and in some cases more.
I am not taking away from your pride, but not at the expense of the other cities.

I must add it doesn’t surprise me almost nobody wants to run in Concord. In recent years very, very qualified people have served on the council, the bar has gotten pretty high. Peterson is a respected Deputy District Attorney, and Shinn is a retired Sherrif Commander, both have a strong backrounds in law enforcement, a key service of a city. Hofmiester has a big job with the City of Clayton, and Bejerke has a similiar job with Antioch. Hoffmiester and Bejerke are both qualified to work as City Managers, easily. There isn’t a city in the county that has this caliber a council in terms of know how and ability. It makes me proud to live in Concord.

I was disappointed nobody ran for the Pittsburg Council. Elections in Pitt are always sort of interesting. I recall an election or two ago one of the victorious candidates failed to show at his swearing in ceremony! That was a first, in 40 years of watching politics.

Watch out for Marianne Bordogna. She is an excellent individual with the skills to bring excitement to what would other wise be a a morbid towne council campaign. She would make local government a lot more interesting.

Please use uninterested in lieu of disinterested to mean indifferent or apathetic. Disinterested connotes lack of prejudgment or bias.
