Dem convention: CodePink protests media party

We ran into San Francisco anti-war icon Medea Benjamin of the Bay Area outside the big media party at the Democratic Convention last night.
While the 15,000 journalists partied inside an amusement park, Medea and her friends handed out a list of their week’s activities. Benjamin is cycling around Denver on a pink and green bicycle — pink for peace, green for environmentalism — and says she and her activist colleagues intend to make their presence known at as many convention-related events as possible.
Here’s a short video of our interview with Benjamin. My colleague Mary Anne Ostrom at the San Jose Mercury News is conducting the interview while I manned the Flip video.

Medea is truly a Useful Idiot, to use Lenin’s phrase. She makes Pelosi and co. seem like middle-of-the-roadies, thus making it easier for the Dems to pose as the party of the sensible middle classes.
