Hard to believe that the most exciting thing about the GOP Convention would be it's cancellation. I didn't want to hear about McCain's amnesty plan, his 100 year war in Iraq, or how he'll fold on 2nd Amendment rights anyways.

When Hillary Clinton supporters talk of crossing party lines to cast their votes for McCain, it only makes me think that there's no way McCain is a real conservative. When he begins to pander to the Hillary supporters, he'll move even further to the left. At that point, what's the difference between liberal Obama and liberal McCain?

The only looser in the next election may just be the American people.

As is typical of GOP fortunes since 2004 what if the Republican National Committee gave a convention and nobody showed up!! I mean if President George Bush, and Vice President Dick Cheney don't show up that will be a plus. After all isn't GWB usually playing guitar or mountain biking during disasters? Excuse me he did give up golf to keep up solidarity with our troops in Iraq!

I am sure that the Republican National Committee can find someone to speak if our glorious leaders are actually going to try and do their job and help Americans in the gulf region. (That is Gulf of Mexico not Persian gulf for GWB and John McCain who tend to be geographically challenged)

Maybe Hurricane Gustov is a metaphor for Republican fortunes in 2008. The GOP throws a party and the American people suffer.
