In the highly competitive AD15 race, Democrat and San Ramon School Board Trustee Joan Buchanan had produced her first television ad. Like most campaigns, she’s also using as an online fundraiser: “Help us keep this ad on TV! Donate now!”

Buchanan is running against Republican and San Ramon Mayor Abram Wilson.

No question, television time is expensive. This is a warm and fuzzy ad that shouldn’t offend anyone.

Sadly most political ads are derivative as not much has changed over the centuries e.g. kick the bums out, promise the world, kiss babies and speechify to close supporters.

I was though heartened in seeing Joan’s commitment to cutting budget items highlighted by the segment showing her cross out items and the big red “No!” Can’t help but wonder exactly what items she would actually cut from the State budget or add.
