Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover, the first African-American elected to the county Board of Supervisors back in 2000, has snagged a hard-to-get ticket to Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration.

But alas, he just found out about the ticket this morning and has nowhere to stay.

Yet.

Federal, I have worked in D.C. and I do not recommend sleeping on the Metro in January.  It’s way, way too cold for a warm-blooded Californian such as yourself.

Have you tried Craigs List?

I just did a quick search of temporary rentals in the DC area and there appears to be no shortage of housing — for a price, of course.

My understanding is that, whatever the asking prices are now, they have dropped from what they were due to supply being plentiful. The Obamas will be vacating their suite at the Hay-Adams and moving to Blair House. He could check in at the Hay. I attended a meeting once at the Hay in the small conference room looking directly across Lafayette Park at the White House. It is an awesome view.
