“Gray Davis Action Team, assemble!”

It seems former Gov. Gray Davis’ old communications team is reassembling over at California Strategies, a Sacramento-based public affairs firm.

Former Davis speechwriter and senior communications advisor Jason Kinney has been a principal there for some time. Today, the firm announced that former Davis communications director and campaign svengali Garry South – who lately has been attached to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom’s 2010 gubernatorial campaign – and former Davis press secretary Michael Bustamante are coming aboard too, joining Kinney in its “strategic communications practice” advising “its public- and private-sector clients on an array of crisis and strategic communications issues.”

“Michael and Garry are two of the most highly regarded communications professionals in California, if not the nation,” said California Strategies chairman Bob White, former Gov. Pete Wilson’s longtime chief of staff. “Adding these two outstanding professionals to our growing company will continue to provide our clients with the highest level of strategic advice and communications messaging.”

Just like old times!
