Rep. Miller won’t go against the Speaker. B. Lee ain’t goin’ anywhere except to another Buddhist monastery, Telegraph Ave., or CPUSA reunion where she is still revered. The other Bay Area “progressives,” including the possibly senile Pete Stark, think the President is the reincarnation of LBJ and act accordingly, pleasing the many retired hippies in their districts and other malcontents waiting for the next Abbie Hoffman.
