Virtually all references made by non-Lefties pushes one of their buttons--they must have a million of 'em-- and thus offends someone or something they identify with. Pretty soon, at least in California, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" will raise eyebrows as patronizing to our farmyard friends. There are 3 reasons it's not called as Depression: 1. There is no economic definition of a Depression, as there is for a Recession. 2. None have put out campaign signs, as that would have violated municipal and county sign ordinances, which designate a fixed time period before an election (none has been called by the Governator yet). Signs can't be placed in public view, without penalties.
