True about Dems having a lock on CD-10; probably. Boxer's senate seat is one to watch. The other night, KGO radio ran an unscientific phone-in poll -- Boxer vs. Schwarzenegger Even with the callers being primarily from the SF Bay Area, Boxer barely beat out the Govinator, despite his 33% standing in the popularity polls. I can't picture Arnold as a workhorse senator, sitting through endless committee meetings. Also, I'm not sure he could get the GOP nomination. But that's another matter.

The Times wisely notes vacancies don't pop up very often in this state's version of the House of Commons, where safe seats are at a premium. Unless Congress votes to impose Sharia on the district, the Democrats have CD-10 locked up.

NYT Sunday magazine also has quite the feature story on the governor's race, including "The Gavinator" on the cover. The selection of hizoner for the cover nothwithstanding, the article does a pretty good job on all the prospective R and D wannabes.
