Nejedly son drops lawsuit

Contra Costa Community College District Trustee John T. Nejedly, son of the late state Sen. John A. Nejedly, has dropped his lawsuit against siblings Contra Costa Supervisor Mary Nejedly Piepho and Central Contra Costa Sanitary District member Jim Nejedly.
John T. says he did not want to spend any more money on the case and that he had learned everything he wanted to know during depositions of the various parties to the lawsuit.
Each of those factors, of course, cuts both ways.
I also suspect that John T., who became a lawyer in December 2007, wanted to avoid publicity generated through what was very likely to be ugly courtroom testimony about his past personal problems.
He has said he is considering a run for Contra Costa District Attorney next year and he is running for a seat on the State Bar of California’s Board of Governors. His term on the Contra Costa Community College ends in 2010.

I suspect Senator John A. Nejedly was also heartbroken
because he hadn’t taught ALL on his children to stay out of local elective office.

Is there really nothing happening or has the Times laid off both Lisa and Josh?
One new story a day, maybe? Or not.
This blog sucks.

Wow, you’re tough Elwood.
I was at the Board of Supervisors meeting this afternoon … I’m the unofficial county reporter until the Times promotes a new one. The last reporter left for a PR job.
But I’m working on the blog next!

If you’re being forced to sit through BOS meetings, you have my sympathy.
If I’m “tough” it’s because I miss the lively blog we once had here. It could be construed as a compliment.

These are tough times for the newspaper folk. Next thing you know, Josh will have to empty the trashcans on his way out the building to cover the next “activist” story.

Lisa, at the next BOS Meeting, suggest that our Honorable Supervisors adjourn in memory of themselves in office, and then under final remarks they could all submit their resignations. After all, as experienced electeds, they are responsible for these past high benefits. This would save the County their 6-figure salaries, and their replacements could run in the Special General Election of November 3, saving election costs as well.

Lisa, Matthias is probably laughing right now
