I’m a ihhs provider.none of my clients are friends or family members. I have been taking care of the elderly and dissabled for almost 7 years and I make a lousy 8.60 an hour. There are thousands just like me I guess the loss of our jobs are just colateral damage

I’m old enough to know better, I’m too young for retirement and too old to start a new career. Twenty three years ago I started my career with the State of California. As a single parent I knew that it was the right move; Job security, a salary and plenty of opportunities to make a difference in this world. I was such a dreamer! One day I realized that my life hasn’t changed at all. I haven’t climbed the financial ladder that my education promised me. I’m still counting pennies, waiting for the bus and which is worse at the mercy of an arrogant, ignorant man with a personal agenda. I’m behind with my mortgage payments, I haven’t been able to buy groceries, my daughter is staying home because there ‘s no school budget, Shame
