Mitchoff supports DeSaulnier, geez we didn't see that coming, nor could I guess the same from the whole PH City Council. What a convincing statement of support too, maybe DeSaulnier will make an appearance at the next City Council meeting, just to update everyone on the State budget because we can't get that from the newspapers. He'll bring economic reform? Try more of the same - is he in favor of Stimulus 2? By the way PH Council, where was DeSaulnier in getting the flooding problem fixed in PH - not as County Sup. and now mostly likely not as a State rep., perhaps at the federal level. I guess that's why we'll need Stimulus 2 or at least an earmark in the next bill of opportunity. "Machine" support for the front runner - good work PH City Council - look for the return favor for your next campaign.

I'm surprised that Garamendi didn't burn up all $300,000 on his campaign signs! They are everywhere. But, that still doesn't hide the fact that while he may talk about "change," he offers none whatsoever. At a stop during his so-called Listening Tour at Las Positas College, he gave obvious answers to soft ball questions. You know how it goes... "Mr. Garamendi, what is your plan for Education?" Garamendi responds, "I'm glad you asked that question. Education is very important. Our Country's future depends on the education of our children. Next question please."

It would be important to note that when I asked him if he was willing to make good on the promise to bring about change by drafting a bill that would cut funding for the military police actions in Iraq and Afghanistan and bring the troops home within six-months to ensure a safe and secure withdrawl, his answer might surprise some on the left, and maybe even the right.

He said that while he was always against the war effort in Iraq, Afghanistan was a different story because Afghanistan shares a border with Pakistan, which has nukes. He even suggested that we will see an expanded effort along the border, and even inside the Country of Pakistan. He finished by answering the only question of the day directly saying, "So, no I would not draft such a bill."

Bring the troops home? Come on... that's not the kind of "change" they were talking about.

Josh, thanks for updating your blog with the call you had from CCRP Chair Greg Poulos. The CCRP By-Laws have specific rules about CCRP endorsements in Primary Elections where there is more than one Republican running.
