Fiorina to make ‘important’ statement in Pleasanton

Carly Fiorina

Carly Fiorina

The Tri-Valley Business Council sent out an email blast today inviting folks to listen to former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina make a “very important” announcement in Pleasanton on Nov. 6.

Will this be her official official entry into the 2010 California senatorial race and a showdown with U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.? (Why Pleasanton? I have no idea. Not that there is anything wrong with Pleasanton.)

Her Web site is already asking for contributions, so it sounds as though the real decision has already been made. I guess we’ll have to wait and find out.

The event starts at 9:30 a.m. at Goal Line Productions. RSVP required. Contact Matthew Del Carlo at msdelcarlo@sent.com.

Not a bad idea . . . makes the announcement in a growing suburb, split closer along party lines than where she hales from (deep blue south bay and Silicon Valley).

Or perhaps she’s announcing that since she has no prayer of beating Boxer that she’ll be the umpteenth Republican to challenge Jerry McNerney?

  • bushsworstnightmare

She’s going to announce her withdrawal from the Governors race….watch and learn, the republican party cannot win anymore elections, after bush, cheney and arnold.

  • Elwood

I wonder how much she’ll brag about her experience as CEO of HP?

    HP just barely survived.

    Re: #2

Last I heard, she was planning on running for the US Senate vs. Boxer.

Well, she couldn’t be any worse than Boxer. The junior senator from CA has always been a black hole anyway.

  • Brian

    She’s a joke…

  • Allen Payton

She’s running for U.S. Senate, not Governor. I had the chance to meet her and speak a few times during the McCain campaign, last year. Carly will give Boxer a run for her money, if she wins the Republican Primary against Chuck DeVore.
But, Lisa, where did you get that photo of her? 🙂

  • Frannie Baker

Chuck Devore is a parody. Of course, Fiorina will steam roll him. Boxer is the challenge

  • J Judd

If she’s as smart as the GOP thinks she is she’ll not make the run? Should she make the run she’ll loose to DeVore due to the grassroots efforts of the conservative movement? The 2010 election is not about either party but about the individual’s principles and values. She’s nothing more than a “Rhino” and has no insight of Constitutional values.

Boxer may squeak out another win against Carly or Chuck, but CA Democrats, I being one, had better get serious about grooming some fresh talent to run in statewide offices — Boxer, Feinstein, Brown — not exactly the future. Brown’s got a lock on the Democratic nomination for guv, but all heck will break loose if age suddenly catches up with him and something happens to his health between now and election time.

  • RNC is roadkill

    …..and here we go again – – – first there’s Sara, then Meg and N O W (drumroll please – CARLIE !!!!!!0

Even the RNC itself questions this moron. Her tenure at HP was mired in controversy, disregard for the law and questionable tactics.

    Read for yourselves –

  • Chuck

She’s a rino running against Boxer. Wast of time for both parties. Californians deserve Boxer, Feinstein and Pelosi.

  • Elwood

What horrible sin did we commit that we deserve them?

Only thing I can think of that might cause us to deserve them would be felonious mopery with sheep.
