Early results in CoCo show Garamendi leading

By Lisa Vorderbrueggen
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 at 8:26 pm in 2009 CD10 special election.

Vote-by-mail results just posted in Contra Costa County show Democratic Lt. Gov. John Garamendi leading with 57 percent compared with 38 percent for Republican David Harmer.

The results offer a stronger than usual window into the outcome because elections officials expect 75 percent of all ballots cast in this special election will come via the mail. Contra Costa election guru estimates that the vote-by-mail numbers reported so far represent about two-thirds of all the votes that will be cast.

Harmer has been campaigning strong in the final two weeks and the national Republican Party has dumped four mailers into the district. But it may not be enough to overcome the sheer numerical 18-percentage-point registration advantage of the Democrats.

Garamendi is in; Harmer will outdo Gerber. If the GOP thinks Obama has crashed and burned already, what fantasy will they parade next year?

It’s over for Harmer. If he had supported leaving Afghanistan as the other 4 did, he would have had a better chance. As we used to say in Brooklyn, wait ’til next year GOP Bums!

Uninvited Communist. Obama is crashing and burning. We independent thinkers don’t need the GOP to tell us that, got it?

Garamendi has never had to work a real job his entire life. He along with Obama, Pelosi, and the majority of Democrats who steal their positions in office don’t pay nearly as much as taxes as the rest of us rubes and make 100 x as much. They don’t create wealth, they don’t create value – they just make a phone call and steal it from the American people only to redistribute it back to their ignorant voters. It’s called dependency and it breeds petulant little children like you.

    Ever heard of the mafia?

The redistricting that happened a few years back in district 10 to secure Tausher’s seat in the last few elections is nothing short of voter fraud.

Enjoy your “honest” fought victory and see you in 2010.

“If he had supported leaving Afghanistan as the other 4 did, he would have had a better chance.”

Umm, our own President hasn’t even decided that. Ya know, the Commander and Chief of the greatest military the world has known? He is sitting on the fence while our young men and women die. We either go all in or all out. What Obama is doing is cowardly and deadly.

The only thing I was thinking about at the polls was how to get career politicians out of my wallet. Garamendi is one of them – no other issues even came near that priority.

But I am a Libertarian, which means I actually work for a living.

“As we used to say in Brooklyn, wait ’til next year GOP Bums!”

Precisely why I loath East Coast transplants. They screwed up their state with their socialist policies – came out to California and screwed things up here. Native Californians don’t really think much of the liberals from the other coast.

Native Californian Democrats (like my family) were conservative and would rather eat **** than accept handouts from the government.

How sweet it is. The GOPers again waste time and money on a campaign they had no chance in winning. We are smart voters in District 10 and except for the first Rep we sent in our new District 10 we have always sent a Democrat to Washington as the very best rep for the people in our District. District 10 in both of the Bush Jr elections went correctly for Gore and then Kerry. Funny and sad how Bush turned out to be the worst President in our history. We now are strongly and wisely represented by Democrats in all the bay area districts in the House and Senate and in the State House and Senate.

    Good luck with that, Chet.

Don’t look too often at your tax situation, do you, Chet?

Assuming, of course, that you actually pay taxes.

    Concerned folks:
Harmer didn’t look that good at the forum in Manteca. The Bay Area look show’s up too much.
