The Republican primary candidates in the 11th Congressional District have been invited to participate in a Jan. 11 forum sponsored by the South San Joaquin Republican Club.
Club president Frank Aquila will moderate the event.
Candidates who have indicated they will participate include: Tony Amador, retired U.S. Marshall; Robert Beadles, businessowner; Elizabeth Emken, autism research and cure advocate; Brad Goehring, winegrape grower; Larry Pegram, businessman; and Jeff Takada, teacher.
The free event is open to the public and starts at 6:30 p.m. at Crossroads Grace Community Church, 1505 Moffat Blvd. in Manteca.

Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools Joseph Ovick and California State PTA Education Advocate Nancy Vandell will speak about the future of education in California at the Jan. 14 meeting of the Lamorinda Democratic Club.
The general business meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. followed by the speakers at 8 p.m. The event will be held at the Orinda Community Church, 10 Irwin Way in Orinda.

Iraq War veteran Eric Boettcher will speak at the Jan. 20 morning meeting of the Ygnacio Valley Republican Women Federated.
