Just proves we don’t have a democracy. If we could rely on government to take up the charge for reforming Calif., at least we’d have a republic. I guess we don’t have either. Dollars rule.

The only initiatives that get on the ballot and succeed are those that are sponsored by self-serving, deep-pocketed interest groups who manage to persuade ill-informed voters that the ballot measure is good for the state. “Good government” doesn’t have moneyed sponsors. Corruption does.
