Unfortunately, our choices are not very good. Neither party seems to have much bench strength in terms of a new generation of leadership. I'm completely open about who to vote for in the general election. I don't see the governorship in Repub/Dem terms. But, as of now, I'm intriqued by the notion that, because of his age and lack of any future beyond the governorship, Brown might actually be willing to take on the sacred cows and entrenched interests and knock heads. Unlike Whitman, he knows where the bodies are buried. For all the "Governor Moonbeam," hits Brown took when he was guv before, it turns out that he was spot on about many things. Not on highways though. I heard Gray Davis interviewed yesterday. Compared to what we've been through for the past several years, he sounded like the only grown up around. Despite what happened to him, the man seems totally devoid of bitterness. Class act, IMHO.

Brown will be running for office when he's 90 years old, on oxygen, and getting around in a wheelchair. Frankly, I'd like to see the younger generation have a crack at the Governor's job. These warmed over 1970
