Sheriff’s candidate sends pre-emptive mailer

By Lisa Vorderbrueggen
Monday, May 17th, 2010 at 2:00 pm in 2010 election, Contra Costa County, Contra Costa politics.

The mud hasn’t started flying yet but just in case it does, Contra Costa Sheriff candidate and Concord Police Chief David Livingston is ahead of the game.

He sent out a pre-emptive strike mailer in the past couple of days. (See mailer pasted below.)

The word on the street is that his opponent and Antioch Councilman Brian Kalinowski has a negative piece in the wings and as the far lesser funded candidate, he will need to make it count.

Kalinowski says his mailer is honest but not muddy.

So, watch your mailboxes. Because, as we know, the difference between mud-slinging and hard-hitting is sometimes hard to see through all the muck.

Here’s the mailer.
