Have to agree in the case of Arnold. His failures are “our” failures. If “we the people” had adopted the fiscal reforms proposed by the guv and Tom Campbell, we’d be in a lot better shape. Had he not been there to veto a bunch of really stupid bills from the legislature, we’d be in even worse shape.

Only the private sector can clean up the mess that has become our formerly golden state.
By the way _ if you run into anyone at Chevron, tell them those “When America looks to the future, it looks to California” commercials are an anachronistic embarassment.
They’re so 1980s.
The only thing people look to our state for now is fiscal profligacy.
But we can start changing that, and reclaiming our destiny, on Nov. 2.

Up from poverty, strong academic performance at Stanford, very energetic and articulate, business success, lots of involvement in helping underprivileged kids etc. Deborah could have a battle on her hands.
