Martinez: Schroder-Hatch wed in Italy

That was a short engagement.
Three days after Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder popped the question and presented a ring to Suzanne Hatch, the pair married in Stresa, Italy, on Aug. 5.
They are honeymooning in Paris, the source of this picture on her Facebook page. Hatch is a teacher and Martinez resident. She is also the daughter of Carol Hatch, Rep. George Miller’s retired district director.
The pending Hatch-Schroder merger was apparently one of the worst-kept secrets in Martinez. I was at Armandos on Friday night (a music club downtown) and the locals say they knew the mayor was getting married.
Schroder will return from Europe and start his re-election campaign for mayor. He has two opponents although neither appears to pose much of a challenge yet.
