Monday, October 18th, 2010 at 11:18 am in 2010 election.

Today is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 election and the League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley wants to help make it easy.

From 5 to 9 tonight, league representatives will be available at the Lafayette and San Ramon Safeways to help you fill out your registration form.

All U.S. Citizens 18 years and older and not in state prison or on parole are eligible to register. You must be registered at your current address to vote, so if you have moved you need to re-register.

Register at:

  1. Lafayette Safeway Walnut Creek Safeway, 3540 Mt. Diablo Blvd. 710 Bancroft Blvd. (Countrywood)
  2. San Ramon Safeway Martinez (Pleasant Hill) Safeway, 2505 San Ramon Blvd. 6688 Alhambra Blvd/ Pleasant Hill Road

The woman who ran the voter registration table at my Safeway said that she had registered about a half dozen people. They were mostly re-registrations for citizens who had moved but there was one first-time registrant. She said that the League of Women Voters will collect the completed forms from the various stores and get them to Martinez before the midnight deadline.
