Hercules incumbents go down, down, down

Hercules voters drop-kicked into next week incumbent city councilmembers Don Kuehne and Joanne Ward in Tuesday’s recall election.

The outcome was never really in question, of course. The people in Hercules are madder than a hive of rattled wasps over the abysmal state of financial and ethical affairs down at City Hall.

But it wasn’t even close: 87 percent voted to boot Ward, followed by 80 percent against Kuehne.

Now, that is what you call a voter mandate.
