Not to worry about qualifications. I think there is a “State Controlling for Dummies” book he can get from Amazon. If he runs for that job, he’ll be 73. We Dems in CA need some young talent. Looking a bit clogged in the arteries between our two U.S. Senators, the governor and Lockyer.

Lockyer could have made a mint as a lobbyist if he were so inclined. Instead he has devoted himself to public service and that deserves respect.

Lockyer running for State Controller? What experience does that man have with auditing and other duties of the controllership? Come to think of it, how is Lockyer qualified to be treasurer right now? Is our state so devoid of professional talent that we must fill these positions with interchangeable politicians? At least, thanks to Steve Poizner, we were spared from having Cruz Bustamante serve as Insurance Commissioner on his ridiculous “I was so fat” campaign platform. As for Sandre Swanson, let’s hope that unless useless political machine cog has exhausted his 15 minutes of political fame. Like most of the clowns now in Sacramento, he should just go away.
