Why are firearms retailers opposed to using resources to get illegally possessed guns back from felons and the mentally ill? I thought even the NRA and gun rights advocates were for enforcing gun restrictions on those people.

The DROS serves ONLY as a tax on a fundamental human right (unconstitutional) to keep poor, sane, law-abiding adults who are disarmed and defenseless against criminals. Brown should veto this as criminals don’t buy guns made expensive by the unconstitutionally taxed and infringed nearly-to-oblivion white market when they can get them dirt cheap on the black.

John W: AB 144 was placed in the inactive file yesterday. I was hearing there were at least five Democratic senators who were balking at the bill, and so it may well be dead for this year; I intend to follow up on that today.

I don’t want to stir up another debate with our gun advocate friends, but whatever happened to the Open Carry bill that supposedly was on it’s way to an up or down vote? Just curious.

“LAS VEGAS — Gov. Jerry Brown, who is considering what tax increases to propose to voters in November 2012, acknowledged this morning that polls are generally unfavorable but said voters might approve sales and income taxes.”

He was nuts in the 70s and he’s still nuts in his 70s.
