Bill, look at the map of California's new Third Congressional District here
http://wedrawthelines.ca.gov/downloads/meeting_handouts_082011/map_20110815_ap_cd_3_certified.pdf
It includes all of Colusa County. Independents and independent-minded Democrats in this district will have no tolerance for "Live Shot Garamendi" and his special interest-driven agenda. U.C. Davis students and faculty will wonder how John Garamendi Jr. got a $216,000 a year administrative job with the U.C. while they cope with staff cutbacks and fee increases (the Garamendi surname was purely coincidental to the son getting this high-level U.C. post, of course). Both Occupy Wall Street and Tea Party members will wonder what Garamendi Sr. actually did from 1998-2001 as the Washington, D.C. partner for Yucaipa Cos. (a cushy, well-paid job given to Garamendi by Democratic megadonor/sugar daddy Ron Burkle), including its relationship with Garamendi's 1991 insurance commissioner scandal. An arrogant, out-of-touch member of the "political class" that showers benefits on blood relatives and cronies, "Live Shot Garamendi" deserves to be ousted from Congress in 2012.

Garamendi defeated by someone in Colusa? Not likely - look at his district...does it go anywhere near Colusa? How to you figure?

You obviously dislike him, but he seems to have a Demo dist, even after reapportionment.

Expect Sen. Wolk to run for Congress sometime over the next decade. If current trends continue, Congressman John Garamendi may be defeated in the new 3rd congressional district, possibly by Colusa County Supervisor Vann. Garamendi is too much of a captive of narrow Democratic special interests to take that "independent" oriented seat. He has been in politics for far too long with so few tangible results. His many years in statewide office have made him out of touch to handle district-oriented constituent service. Most of his current constituents have learned that he doesn't give a darn about them -- he's too busy posturing in front of TV cameras and servicing his out-of-district campaign donors, especially a bunch of statewide labor union bosses (such as the UFCW clowns). He's a policy dilettante, claiming to be a "health care expert" or "natural resources expert" depending upon the cable TV interview, but true policy wonks know that he is merely "one centimeter deep" (just cliches and soundbites). About the only "private sector" job he's ever held was a shady "all title but no real work" position for notorious Democratic fat cat donor Ron Burkle's business empire. Plus Garamendi is an arrogant, carpet-bagging buffoon. After Garamendi is ousted from Congress, Wolk likely would challenge the Republican winner in 2016.
