Progressives/liberals need to realize that Jerry Brown is an inconsistent flip/flopper. He said one thing to you to get your votes last year. Now that he’s in office, he doesn’t care what you think. Many police officers are paid exorbitant pensions that are relics of the Gray Davis regime (that’s how Davis “bought” his 2002 re-election — inter-generational theft via pensions such as these in exchange for their electoral support). The police will destroy any elected official who deigns to even suggest that police “give back” their unsustainable pensions (beware the “blue wall of thugs” and their wrath). That’s why Brown and the Sacramento Democrats want to raise your taxes instead of forcing the police, firefighters and prison guards to give up their ill-gotten pension gains. So Jerry Brown demonstrates yet again that he is a puppet of special interests. We are literally stealing education from today’s children and forcing them to pay today’s police/firefighter/prison guard pension costs when they enter the work force.

I watch that reality show 48 hours, the one that follows real life homicide detectives around. They are always solving cases with information they get from cell phones, it’s one of the best investigative tools cops have these days. So this issue of the cell phones is a tough one. On the one hand you would think this information ought to be subject to a warrant, but at the same there are thousands of bad guys in jail because of info gained from cell phones.
