Congressman Miller said he wrote the DOE a letter of support for Sun Power to obtain a federal loan. I am unhappy about that. If companies can’t make it without taxpayer dollars, they should close up shop. I am also unhappy Miller wrote a long letter of support for the unions urging the Contra Costa
Community College District adopt a Project Labor Agreement (PLA). A PLA will take scarce funds from students and misuse taxpayer dollars. I will no longer vote for a bond because the PLA makes contracts unfair for non-unions. We must get Miller out of office and elect someone who does not have union support.

It’s good that Congressman Miller is speaking in Garamendi’s district because “Live Shot Garamendi” has long ignored his constituents. Instead he flocks to every TV camera in Washington like a moth to a dim light bulb as he pursues his own personal vanity (and he’s a “dim bulb” himself). Garamendi has his main congressional office in Walnut Creek but his chair there is probably growing cobwebs because he just doesn’t “come home” that often (possibly because that carpetbagger’s “home” is outside of his district). Garamendi comes to Contra Costa occasionally to pay fealty to the fat-posterior union bosses, not to listen to his constituents and their concerns (Garamendi is owned by unions and other special interests). Garamendi and his common-folk-are-beneath-me attitude is one reason why Congress is near record-low approval ratings. Garamendi is likely to be one of those “career politicians” who gets retired by voters in 2012. Good riddance!

I won’t be able to attend event, but the question I’d like to ask George Miller is why the CEO of Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland making 4 million dollars a year. Isn’t it a fact this huge salary is coming from the federal coffers, at least indirectly. As I understand it, modern hospitals get most of their income from medicare re-imbursements. When an elderly person – a social security recipient – dies in the hospital the hospital sends a 75 or 100 thousand dollar bill to Washington DC most of the time. This is the principal reason hospitals are so profitable and why the wages are so high for CEO’s of hospitals. I don’t mind paying health care for senior citizens, or the poor for that matter, but I hate like hell seeing my tax dollars going to pay 4 million dollars salaries for paper pushing hospital CEO’s. This type of abuse in the health care system needs to be dealt with, I think. Congressman Miller, please address the issue of these health care predators – such as the CEO of Alta Bates in DC. No way should CEO’s of hospitals be making this kind of money, most of the revenue coming into the hospitals is federal money. I don’t mind paying taxes to see the sick and aged cared for, but I got problem – a big broblem, with tax dollars flowing into the pockets of these CEO leaches. They are just scamming the system, it needs to stop.
