Fri, 21 Oct 2011 04:26:54 +0000 http://www.ibabuzz.com/politics/?p=17545#comment-42793 “Live Shot Garamendi” postures as a dove when he talks to Bay Area peace groups where he talks ceaselessly about cutting and running from Iraq and Afghanistan, so let me change just one word in his quote: “I commend President Obama’s administration for leading an international mission in AFGHANISTAN that prevented the massacre of thousands of innocent civilians with minimal risk to American lives. President Obama and his national security team have admirably focused on promoting a swift end to this conflict and on transitioning to a democratic government.” But he doesn’t agree with that statement, mainly because he can stand behind a virtual “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” banner for Libya. “Live Shot Garamendi” rightly decries “the murder of 270 innocent people, among them 189 Americans, in the infamous Lockerbie airplane bombing,” but why doesn’t he acknowledge “the murder of innocent people, among them 290 IRANIANS ON IRAN AIR FLIGHT 655, among them 66 CHILDREN, in the infamous JULY 1988 U.S.S. VINCENNES airplane ATTACK” by the U.S. military, which Gadhafi was supposedly avenging later that year with Pan Am Flight 103 (which I re-state was an absolutely despicable act)? Most people don’t realize that Garamendi is an absolute hawk on pro-Israel matters and that he is a puppet of Israel’s powerful AIPAC lobby in Washington, DC. Garamendi preaches “peace and love” to the general public, but takes a strong anti-Arab line in private meetings with pro-Israel groups (many of whom are his high-dollar campaign donors). Most significant, Garamendi refuses to join the Obama Administration in condemning the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank (especially East Jerusalem). Garamendi, the two-faced career politician, deserves to be ousted by Congress in 2012.
