No problem with the demonstrators in Walnut Creek. I drove by. Camp Quan in Oakland is a different matter, as even the mayor herself now finally admits. Those small store owners who are on the verge of being out of business. Their employees. The Oakland people who would have been employed by businesses that have canceled their plans. Residents of Oakland who have been trying to rebuild the city’s reputation as a place to live, work and play. I’m pretty sure all those people are part of the 99 percent too.

Sheesh, there are trolls everywhere. John W, you clearly don’t have a clue as to what ‘they’ are all about. ‘They’ are you, fyi. And unless you will be taking off in your jet to talk to your cronies in Cannes this weekend, I am sorry to report that you, indeed, are the 99%, you just dont’ get it yet. And the rest of you? Contrary to popular belief, WCPD has absolutely no authority to tell the OWC, the Grannies in Skivvies, or the Boy Scouts, or anyone for that matter, where they can assemble as long as they are on public property. It is something called the 1st Amendment. You’ve heard of that right? It’s in a thing called the United States Constitution… but you know that.

And I thought that WCPD had redirected protesters to the intersection of California Blvd and Ygnacio Valley Rd, in order to minimize traffic disruption. Whatever happened to that . . . is the OWC group defying the PD request, or did WCPD modify its position?
