100 years ago women were not allowed the right to vote. Were those men who opposed that right not “haters”? I think not.

50 years ago people who had a darker pigmentation than you were not allowed the right to sit, eat, go the bathroom, or even travel in certain parts of these United States. Were those people who opposed that right not “haters”? I think not.

Bigotry of any flavor in a society does not end without some massive ideological enema being implemented to certain parts of that societal body — which is being served NOW.

The faster you and your bigotry are expelled from our body politic, the better…

By “the left,” you mean people like Theodore Olsen and even Dick Cheney? It’s difficult to listen to callers to some radio shows and not conclude that many who oppose gay marriage are both idiots and full of self-destructive hatred toward homosexuals. Others are just prejudiced. Many who opposed interracial marriage (not very long ago) were not haters but were wrong. The day is not far away when we will look back on this time and wonder why this issue was such a big deal. The under-35 portion of the population already is at that point. The rest of us are, like General MacArthur, just old soldiers fading away.
