TWINC: Santorum, pepper spray & George Lucas

By Josh Richman

Last night on KQED’s “This Week in Northern California,” I discussed how Rick Santorum’s exit from the presidential race will affect California. Southern California Public Radio’s Julie Small talked about the UC-Davis pepper spray report, and KTVU’s Tom Vacar talked about filmmaker George Lucas’ decision to pull the plug on a major development project in Marin County.

Interesting stuff on both Santorum and the Lucas thing. Josh makes good observations about Santorum’s withdrawal potentially reducing conservative turnout in the June primary and about the fact that, due to redistricting, CA now has one quarter of the House seats considered to be in play. For minor parties whining about the “top two” locking them out of the general election, low conservative turnout might be a chance for the minors to get their supporters out and win at least one of the top two spots on the general election ballot for some races.

Marin really blew it big time on the Lucas thing. It took less than 9 years from JFK’s man to the moon speech to actually land there, but Luke Skywalker couldn’t get a new facility in Marin after 16 years of effort. The people of Marin won’t like what gets built on that property instead of Skywalker. The facility could end up elsewhere in the Bay Area. It could also end up in Austin, TX. Way to go people of Marin!

“Way to go people of Marin!”

People of Marin have been flaming nimby twits for years.

I hope a developer moves Marin City to Lucas Valley Road for the edification and enlightenment of the local nimby twits.

Reading the online comments in the Marin Independent Journal is fun. Real names. Suggestions for the property have included a land swap with Sonoma to put the Indian Gaming Casino in Marin, along with Section 8 housing.

@3 and @4 (aka Twiddledee and Twiddledum) — their houses (as residents of Marin) are worth far, far more than yours are — perhaps they know something you don’t (and never will…)

You know, the old fascist bromide “if you’re so smart, why aren’t YOU rich?”

Well, East Bay fascists, they ARE (rich — and therefore) smart. (And you’re not.)

    @ toothsucker

Every weekend the same drunken crap.

Stay out of the cooking sherry.

Your brain is long gone. Your liver can’t take much more.

By the way, #3 is John W., probably the most rational commenter on here. #4 is you.

  • Truthclubber

    @5 –

If I didn’t piss you off so much with what I have to say (which is to truthfully contradict all of the fascist lies you try so lamely to barf and spew) — you would merely ignore me and let the rest of this blogging audience attempt to do the same.

But NO! You feel compelled at EVERY SINGLE WRITING (without fail) to try to undermine me with some specious “ad hominen” drivel attack — so what I am saying DOES matter (as it shows you for the blatent fascist that you are) — or else you would ignore it.

Your turn — you can ignore what I just wrote, and prove me W-R-O-N-G.

If you dare comment with yet more lame “cooking sherry BS”, then it proves that I AM a threat to what you would try to brainwash this blog with — just more whitist, elitist, racist, fascist BS that deserved to die in the 1950s…

  • Elwood

toothsucker, you are about as much of a threat to me as a banana slug.

You and it have the same intellectual capacity.

Stay out of the cooking sherry.

  • JAFO

Wading through the unoriginal pissing contest postings from “Truthclubber” and “Elwood” is becoming increasingly challenging. It’s sad, not to mention boring, to watch the daily battle of wits between two so obviously unarmed opponents. Take it outside, boys.

  • Elwood

JAFO, here’s a clue for YOU!

If you don’t like it, don’t read it.

I’m sure there are other blogs where your wit and vast intellect will be appreciated.
