Interesting stuff on both Santorum and the Lucas thing. Josh makes good observations about Santorum’s withdrawal potentially reducing conservative turnout in the June primary and about the fact that, due to redistricting, CA now has one quarter of the House seats considered to be in play. For minor parties whining about the “top two” locking them out of the general election, low conservative turnout might be a chance for the minors to get their supporters out and win at least one of the top two spots on the general election ballot for some races.

Marin really blew it big time on the Lucas thing. It took less than 9 years from JFK’s man to the moon speech to actually land there, but Luke Skywalker couldn’t get a new facility in Marin after 16 years of effort. The people of Marin won’t like what gets built on that property instead of Skywalker. The facility could end up elsewhere in the Bay Area. It could also end up in Austin, TX. Way to go people of Marin!
