In fairness, I don’t think Inhofe’s reaction is representative of the Republicans. McCain praised the trip, and I doubt Romney will say much — other than to say, “If, I’d been president, of course I would have gone.”

Aghanistan is not, never was and never will be a real country. But we’ve been there so that we could keep the heat on Bin Laden and his buddies across the border in Pakistan and will stay there, albeit with a smaller footprint, to keep them from regrouping. It would have been easier had we not pulled out early to go after what’s his face in Iraq. But that’s water over the Tigris. To quote my predecessor, only for real this time, “Mission Accomplished,” sort of!

Anyway, I’m sure the GOP will say this is a campaign stunt and that Obama should have flown commercial to Kabul to save taxpayer money.

Now THERE’S good news!

It’ll be interesting to see how the Kenyan’s handlers spin that one for his re-election campaign.
