We don’t need our legislators to be qualified to write legislation. That’s what we have lobbyists for.

Voters in many states might say the same thing about their legislators. However, We The People of the Republic of California, home of Californian Exceptionalism, as in so many other matters where we deemed ourselves possessed of superior knowledge compared with our lesser beings in other states, came up with the idea of term limits on steroids. So, we end up with freshmen and sophomore legislators holding key leadership and committee positions and legislators being termed out just as soon as they have been there long enough to find the restrooms without using a GPS. If they did that in business or any other walk of life, they would have similar incompetence. Just ask Yahoo.
