I think Moderate Voter should change his name to McNerney Voter.

Look at yesterday’s Stockton Record:

“It wasn’t until July 2011 that McNerney stood on the House floor and firmly denounced the canal. The next day, he announced he would run for re-election in the newly mapped district centered on the Valley, including Stockton and the Delta.”

That’s called opportunism. I’ll take a San Joaquin County family farmer over a Bay Area import any day.

Ricky Gill may be courting SoCal water interests, but your ‘local farmer’ Jeff Denham is owned by them. He has collected 100′s of thousands from them as well as substantial contributions from his puppet master, Congressman Devan Nunes, whose sole duty is to get water out of northern California for the farmers he represents in Tulare, Kings and Kern County.

Where is Denham from? This year its Turlock. Last year it was Atwater. Before that it was Salinas. He is a pure opportunist whose only task in Congress is to raise money for special interests.

We’re in a tough spot. Last I looked, Southern Cal outnumbered us. Also, Jerry Brown is now linking Delta levee upgrades to the tunnel project. And a GOP-controlled House will be more sympathetic to Orange and San Diego counties that to the Bay Area.

This renewed effort to grab NorCal water by Southern Californian politicians and water groups is one of the reasons it’s crucial we return Jerry McNerny to Congress. This wanna-be Congressman Ricky Gill can’t be trusted, as the the Times has reported he has made a stealth-like alliance with these SoCal water groups. Jerry McNerny will never vote for the peripheral canal – never. As I understand it this new water grab is going to be “sold” as a jobs program – an appeal to out of work Californians, but we don’t need to wreck the Delta to put people back to work. We need to return Jerry McNerny, George Miller, and John Garamendi to Congress, they are the triple terrors to these SoCal water groups. Miller, in fact, has been fighting these SoCal water people for 30 years, he knows how to throw monkey wrenches into water grabs.
