I’ve heard this for the past 8 years. Every time the market took a dip, it was Obama’s fault. But every time there was a big single day jump, or the sustained 8 year rise, we hear nothing but the Sounds of Silence.

Historically, the stock market has done better under Democratic administrations. Again, I don’t claim “cause and effect,” just lack of any evidence that the market has done better under Republicans. Same is true of job growth. Since 1952, much more job growth under Dems.

Yes, I know, Europe, fiscal cliff, blah, blah, blah.

I can understand the big banks reluctance to put the blame on their trepidation at the idea of four more years of the same bumbling feckless leadership of the chosen one.

They’re not that stupid, you know?

Elwood,nice try on the stock market angle. As I recall, the market (and my nest egg) went up quite a bit under four years of POTUS. It’s mostly about rumblings in Germany and the rest of Europe; and probably also about the Fiscal Cliff. If POTUS and the GOP don’t get down to business on the Fiscal Cliff, down 300 will seem like a picnic.
